Yassin Alsalman, also known Narcy, is a musician and multimedia artist known as a seminal member of the hip-hop scenes in Montreal and the Arab World. He is considered a pioneer of Arab hip-hop.

The man who used to perform as The Narcicyst won the MMVA Video of the Year in 2017 for his directorial debut with indigenous electronic group Tribe Called Red featuring Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), earned a Juno Nomination for Best Music Video in 2017, has since directed visuals for Talib Kweli, Anderson Paak and Jay Electronica that feature the likes of Dave Chappelle and Spike Lee.Narcy is a Professor in the Fine Arts department at Concordia University, teaching two courses on media and narrative, and music and social change.

His music has been featured in films such as Voices of Iraq and Fast and Furious 7. He is also currently working on projects and executing media projects with his partner Sundus Abdul Hadi at WeAreTheMedium, an international transmedia and culture consultation collective based out of Montreal. Look out for his album Spacetime coming in November and his reality video and podcast series Diaspora.
